Villa College has begun their International Conference on Social Research and Innovation, themed 'Innovation for Sustainability: Forging the Path Ahead" yesterday. Held for 2 days, the conference will feature four keynote speakers and five panel discussions.
The annual International Conference on Social Research and Innovation (ICSRI) held by the Institute for Research and Innovation of Villa College has commenced yesterday.
Held for two days, this conference provides a platform for researchers, students, and industry experts to present their findings, exchange views, and engage in important deliberations on various themes.
This year's conference is titled, 'Innovation for Sustainability: Forging the Path Ahead".
Villa College stated that 53 papers based on this theme will be submitted during this conference. These papers will focus on policy, law and governance, entrepreneurship, finance and industry, environment, sustainability and development, human rights, gender and society, education, language and skills development, health, nursing and social work, psychology, lifestyle and wellbeing, engineering as well as technology and innovation.
During the opening ceremony of the conference, Deputy Vice Rector of Research and Innovation of Villa College, Dr Mohamed Adil stated that this conference will offer students a chance to establish strong networks with industry leaders. He asserted that the opportunity to establish such networks, hold solid deliberations about various industries and create new policies for social science and developmental industries will be also provided through the conference.
Rector of Villa College, Dr Ahmed Anwar added that this international conference is one of the most important events on the college's calendar. He also affirmed that this conference is popular among people in the country's academic field as well as researchers.
The theme of this conference, 'Innovation for Sustainability: Forging the Path Ahead" will open the path to identify and address climate change crises of various regions across the world as well as changes to the rapidly evolving community, technology and science, said Dr Anwar.
Chairperson of this conference, Deputy Vice Rector, Dr Adil had also inaugurated the ICSRI book, 'Research Methods' during the conference.
This year's conference will feature five panel discussions and four keynote speakers.
The International Conference on Social Research was initiated by Villa College in 2016.
