Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke with President-elect Mohamed Muizzu over the phone to discuss the ongoing attacks by Israel on Palestinians.
The Turkish government stated that President Erdogan and Dr. Muizzu discussed efforts to halt the Israeli attacks and provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
President Erdogan also extended his congratulations to Dr. Muizzu for his election as the new President of the Maldives, according to the Turkish government.
The Israeli attacks on Palestinians have resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives, with Israel also obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. In response, Dr. Muizzu has previously condemned these attacks and called for Israel to withdraw from Palestinian territories.
Following Dr. Muizzu's victory in the second round of the presidential election held last month, numerous heads of state have conveyed their congratulations to him.
