President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent a congratulatory message to the newly appointed Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli.
In a post on social media X, the President highlighted the close relations between Maldives and Nepal. He stated his wish to collaborate with the Prime Minister to enhance bilateral cooperation between Maldives and Nepal.
Maldives established diplomatic relations with Nepal on August 1, 1980.

Oli, at 72 years of age, has served three previous terms as Prime Minister of Nepal, being the first Prime Minister to be appointed following the first general election under the country's new constitution.
He is the leader of the Communist party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist. He became Prime Minister through a coalition of his party with the centre-left Nepali Congress party.
Having entered politics in 1966, Oli spent 14 years in prison through his activism against the autocratic regime at the time in Nepal. He joined the Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist Leninist after his release in 1987.
The former Prime Minister of Nepal was Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who lost his position after 18 years through losing parliament majority.
