Male' City Council plans to open registration for households who wish to receive the 10kg of rice and flour the government pledged to issue for Ramadan.
Male' City Council has announced that registration for households in Greater Male' area that wish to receive flour and rice contributions from the government will open next week.
The distribution of staple food to households for the upcoming month of Ramadan was announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
The Male' City Council made an announcement yesterday asking interested households in Male', Villimale' and Hulhumale' to register before February 25.
With the announcement, they also initially released an online form through which applications can be sent in. However, the Council then cancelled the announcement.
Asked for reasons, a Media Official of the Council explained that the form had been recalled because the Council has decided to establish an online portal for registration instead.
The Official stated that an announcement will soon be made regarding the commencement of applications via the portal, adding that they plan on starting by Monday.
