Ministry of Economic Development declared that 14 places were authorised to operate 24 hours over the past two months.
Permission was granted to 10 cafés and restaurants as well as four stores.

Economic Ministry opened the opportunity to register for 24-hour operations in January, and brought the development into effect in March.
The approval is granted at an annual fee of MVR 2,000 and the permit must be renewed every two years. Licenses will be withheld for six months once the agreement is violated, while further violations will absolve the agreement completely.
