President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih advised businesses to regulate prices of regularly consumed products during the month of Ramadan, at a special address delivered on Sunday.

Moreover, President Solih urged business owners to seek spiritual rewards for being generous and compassionate, instead of raising the prices during the month.

In the words of the president, Ramadan marks a time when citizens should learn to acknowledge the importance of empathy and focus on strengthening relations within families and society.

Appealing to the Maldivian people, he urged citizens to exercise proper social etiquette and civic duty in going about their daily lives.

Highlighting that with the month of Ramadan comes the opportunity to delve further into the realm of ones' belief and spiritual practise, he iterated his belief that Maldivians should utilize the holy month to it's fullest extent.

President Solih also emphasized that to witness Ramadan is true in itself, extending his greetings on the occasion to all Maldivians.
