Govt announces business times for Ramadan

Ministry of Economic Development, on Thursday, announced the time periods within which retail outlets, stores, restaurants and cafe's would be permitted to operate during the month of Ramadan.

Restaurants and cafe's are permitted to provide services starting from sunset up to 0300 hrs. However, all retail outlets must close at 0000 hrs.

These restrictions will come into effect on May 5 and conclude six days after the end of Ramadan.

All inhabited islands in Maldives must operate according to the regulations stipulated by the Economic Ministry.

The government annually announces operating hours for Ramadan.
