High Commissioner of India to Maldives Munu Mahawar paid a curtesy call on Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla yesterday.
The meeting was held at the Parliament, and Speaker Abdul Raheem was accompanied by ruling party People's National Congress (PNC)'s Parliamentary Group leader Ibrahim Falah, as well as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Ahmed Nazim.
However, the topics of discussion during the meeting have not been disclosed by either party.
Shortly after the current administration of Maldives took over, diplomatic ties between Maldives and India became severely strained. However, both countries are not engaging in efforts to mend the time tested age old mutual relationship.
