Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital recently introduced a specialized clinic focused on women's health in conjunction with a dedicated reproductive health center, marking a significant milestone as the first such regional-level facility catering to women's healthcare needs.

The Deputy CEO of the hospital, Adam Mahir, stated that the reproductive health center had been operational for the past one and a half months, with the primary focus being the care of pregnant women. Subsequently, the 'Well Woman' clinic was inaugurated on Monday.

The center will be staffed by two specialists specializing in women's health and diseases, and its primary objectives will encompass screening and raising awareness among women. These activities will involve the dissemination of crucial information regarding uterus cancer, breast cancer prevention, educating women on self-examination techniques for detecting breast changes, and facilitating disease screenings.

To ensure comprehensive care, the clinic has designated three days for the treatment of pregnant women and two days for addressing various other women's health concerns. Adam Mahir emphasized that patients registered with the 'Well Woman' clinic would receive notifications for their doctor's appointments.

Furthermore, the clinic will provide continuous postpartum monitoring for a period of six months after delivery, enabling women to receive efficient guidance on dietary requirements and establish their health priorities.

As a result of this transformation, the typical patient profile will undergo a significant shift for those seeking reproductive healthcare. Consequently, he noted that the allocation of time for the treatment of pregnant women is expected to rise.
