A ministry official told Mihaaru News that Yoosuf had been dismissed by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday.
Reasons for the dismissal are not known as of yet.
Yoosuf previously served as MP for Gan constituency, and also filled the post of State Minister at Ministry of Home Affairs during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
With Yoosuf's dismissal, the Homeland Security Ministry currently has three State Ministers: Mohamed Kinaanath, Lubna Zahir and Ahmed Siddeeq.
