Maldivian ambassador to UK presents credentials to the Queen

The Ambassador of Maldives to the United Kingdom, Dr Farah Faizal, presented her Letters of Credence to Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Farah participated and delivered remarks at a reception held at the Hyatt Regency London – Churchill Hotel after the presentation of credentials.

In her statement, the ambassador expressed hope for Maldives’ application for reentry into the Commonwealth to be fast-tracked. She also conveyed her gratitude to the Commonwealth member countries and the UK for their continued support to Maldives.

Over 100 guests of high commissioners of Commonwealth countries, ambassadors of SAARC countries, members of Maldives UK All Party Parliamentary Group, senior officials of the UK government, Think Tanks, media, Maldivian diaspora and other stake holders attended the event, which was opened with an address by Alister Harrison, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps. H.E.

Dr Farah was accompanied by her spouse Dr Mohamed Ahmed Didi, Trade Representative Mohamed Nazeer, and First Secretary Ismail Mamdhooh.
