The government of Thailand has granted a 60 day visa exemption period for Maldivian tourists visiting the country.
The previous tourist visa policy of Thailand had allowed a 30 day on arrival visa for Maldivians.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Thailand has facilitated additional eases to Maldivian locals traveling to the country from May 15, Monday, following changes brought to their immigration policies.
The updates enforced over this policy allows Maldivians travelers visiting Thailand for vacations, business or healthcare purposes to stay in the country, visa-free for up to 60 days, said the Ministry.
In order to extend this duration, a request must be lodged at Thailand's Immigration Department before the 60 day period expires and an extension of 30 days will be facilitated at their discretion, added the Ministry.
Foreign Ministry urges Maldivians traveling overseas for various reasons to obtain travel insurances before beginning travels and ensure to adhere and respect the laws and regulations of the foreign state.
