Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer on Monday, revealed that the government received MVR 3.2 Billion in foreign aid till date.
The minister presented the sum as evidence of strengthened bilateral relations with India, the United States of America, the middle east and the European Union (EU).
He noted that previous administrations received, on average, MVR 150 million in aid, per year.
In response to criticism over the progress of development plans, the minister noted that totalling at a cost of MVR 3.6 billion, 129 projects were awarded through the National Tender Board. This would mark the largest number of projects initiated by a government during the first year of tenure.
Minister Ameer also confirmed the recent finalisation of the National Development Master Plan.
