Kudahuvadhoo will be developed as an urban hub with a commercial port: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu states that Dh. Kudahuvadhoo is within the islands determined to be evolved into an urban center and pledged to establish a commercial port in the island. He assured these projects will ensure the people's hopes will be sustained.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu declared the island of Dhaalu atoll Kudahuvadhoo as a determined location within the seven islands arranged to be developed as an urban center and further stated that the island of Kudahuvadhoo will also see the establishment of a commercial port alongside this development.

Addressing the people of the island during his visit there, the President recalled that his policy, as well as the manifesto accepted by the people arranged the inclusion of urban centers established to facilitate all concerned services.

Declaring these centers will be built to flawlessly sustain all developmental perceptions of the people alongside a standard that warrants residents of other islands to migrate for visits, he had affirmed that Kudahuvadhoo is amongst the seven islands determined for this development.

The President had previously also announced Raa atoll Ungoofaaru as one of the islands determined to be developed as an urban center as well.

While the former administration had also vowed to facilitate Kudahuvadhoo with this development, this undertaking was not achieved throughout the five years of their tenure.

Amid the assurance that development will be facilitated for the island through establishment as an urban center, the President had further affirmed a commercial port will be founded in the island. He had stated that despite the constant listing of this project under the budget, the development of a port was never realized.

He had maintained that nevertheless, this government will establish a commercial harbor accordingly with the people’s expectations and assured to proceed this project in such a way in which the progress is made evident to the people of the island.

However, the president had not elaborated further on the particulars of this development.

President Muizzu had stated that all the hopes and aspirations of the people will be attained through this administration and stated that this is the affirmation he wishes to constantly reassure the people with.
