Professor Hassan Ugail has declared that he is willing to assist in the investigation of cases such as the murders of religious scholar Dr. Afrasheem Ali and blogger Yameen Rasheed, as well as the disappearance of journalist Ahmed Rilwan.
In a tweet, on Monday, Professor Ugail stated that the brutal murder of Afrasheem and Yameen and the disappearance of Rilwan along with countless other such cases warrant thorough investigations.
He further assured that he, in his personal capacity, is willing to provide assistance in such matters should it be deemed necessary.

President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to again open investigations into journalist Ahmed Rilwan’s disappearance, and Yameen Rasheed’s murder.
Hassan Ugail is a Professor of Visual Computing at the University of Bradford and is the first Maldivian to obtain a PhD in Mathematics.
