Sprite lets go of its famous green bottles and starts using transparent bottles instead.
This is part of Coca Cola's mission to ensure all of its products are packaged in 100 percent recyclable material.
Coca Cola introduced Sprite in 1960.
The new bottles were officially introduced to Maldives on September 19.
Coca Cola started "World Without Waste" project aiming solve the increasing amount of waste the world is facing. The goal is to switch completely to recyclable packaging by 2018.
Transparent bottles of Sprite can be found in 300 ml, 500 ml, and 1.25 l as well.
Managing Director for Male' Aerated Company Sunjay Manik said they have switched Maldivian's preferred sparkling lemon drink's packaging to easily recyclable bottles because this is better for the environment.
He said the taste associated with Sprite will remain the same regardless of the packaging.
