Kulhudhuffushi Youth and Recreation Club (KYRC) emerged as the champions of the first division netball tournament by defeating Club Green Streets in a thrilling finals match with a score of 66-59. This victory follows KYRC's previous win over Green Streets in last year's finals, where they triumphed with a score of 55-46.
Green Streets had previously claimed the champion title in 2021 and 2019, while the tournament did not take place in 2020 due to Covid-19. Both teams showcased their strength and skill throughout the tournament, earning their spots in the finals as the top contenders. Although KYRC couldn't play their final match, Green Streets won by default, yet both teams emerged victorious in the other three group stage matches.
Aishath Saleema was honored as the Best Player of the finals and also received the title of Best Player in the first division. Joining her in the list of the best seven players were KYRC's Mariyam Shina'ath, Aminath Firusha, and Malak Ismail Mohamed, as well as Green Street's Layaan Ali Rasheed, Aminath Reem Shaam, and Aminath Nazura.
KYRC's coach, Neesha Haleem, was awarded the Best Coach for her outstanding guidance. The Most Promising player award was presented to Shaya Fasaah from Sports Club Shining Star. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the club, cementing their place as the first division champions
