Rising Cases of Viral Fever

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported a surge in cases of viral fever.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported a surge in cases of viral fever.

A media official from the agency stated that reported cases have seen an uptick this month compared to last month.

Last month saw 4,956 reported cases, while this month has already recorded 6,225 cases.

Apart from the Malé region the highest number of viral fever cases have been reported from Haa Dhaalu, Laamu and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

The HPA has issued advice urging individuals to avoid crowded places, particularly for children and the elderly, to minimize the risk of contracting fever and respiratory illnesses. Individuals exhibiting symptoms of fever are advised to refrain from attending school and to practice proper cough and sneeze etiquette by wearing masks.
