President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday, August 27, commences his trip to Meemu atoll, central Maldives.
Maldives head of state is expected to visit multiple islands of the atoll during his trip which will last until Monday, August 29. He is expected to visit Raiymandhoo of the atoll first, after which he will visit to Maduvvari, followed by Dhiggaru, Veyvah and finally to the atoll's capital Muli.
"President Solih is expected to meet with the respective island councils and women's development committees during his visit to the islands," President's Office said.
During his visit, President Solih is also expected to inspect ongoing infrastructural development projects across the atoll.
During the trip, the President will officially inaugurate the newly developed harbor and the powerhouse at Veyvah. He is also expected to officiate the closing ceremony of Dhiggaru shore protection project.
