People’s National Congress (PNC) candidate and Malé City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and his running mate, Faresmaathoda MP Hussain Mohamed Latheef, have commenced their campaign tour in northern Maldives for the upcoming presidential elections.
The PNC presidential candidate and his running mate are accompanied by the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and PNC coalition’s leadership.
Dr. Muizzu and members of the PPM/PNC coalition are set to visit a total of 11 residential islands spanning both the Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu atolls during their three day trip.
Dr. Muizzu and his campaign team kicked off their tour in Haa Dhaalu atoll's Hanimaadhoo, meeting with PPM supporters. They will next be visiting the island of Nolhivaram of the same atoll.
The opposition coalition has scheduled a huge campaign rally in the atoll’s capital Kulhudhuffushi City on Saturday evening, August 12.
Dr. Muizzu and his team are expected to visit Haa Dhaalu Makunudhoo and Haa Alifu atoll Hoarafushi and Ihavandhoo on Sunday, August 13 and will then travel to Haa Alifu atoll Utheemu, Vashafaru, Kelaa, Baarah and Dhihdhoo on the following day.
