Former President and opposition's presidential candidate Abdulla Yameen is scheduled to visit Noonu Atoll next week on a campaign trip for the Presidential Elections to be held in 2023.

He is scheduled to visit six islands in Noonu Atoll, according to Party Secretary General Mohamed Tholal. These include Kendhikulhudhoo, Miladhoo, Manadhoo, Holhudhoo and Magoodhoo.

Tholal said meetings can be arranged on the islands for supporters who wish to meet the opposition candidate while he is on his campaign trail.

Tholal said this trip would be similar to the campaign trip he had taken to Haa Alifu atoll recently.

While Yameen is set to head to Noonu atoll on October 25, he will also be visiting Addu, beginning of November. That will be the first trip he will be making to Addu after losing the 2018 presidential election.

He had visited five administrative islands in Haa Alifu atoll last week and met supporters of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). The purpose of the trip was to strengthen the party's activities preparing for the 2023 election, in addition to meeting their supporters. He had also announced several projects they plan to initiate in Haa Alifu atoll should he win the election.

Another goal of these trips is to collect public opinion from their supporters while preparing their manifesto.

He is also set to visit Gaafu Dhaalu atoll and Fuvahmulah soon.
