A Maldivian man wanted on assault charges and listed on an Interpol red notice has been arrested by police seven months later.

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Sibth Abdulla, 19, from Male', was ordered by the Criminal Court on Thursday to be placed in custody pending further investigation.
