Maldives Immigration has changed its official working hours, which will now run from 8am to 2pm starting today.

The agency previously operated from 8am to 4pm. The change was announced last night and came into effect on Tuesday, 8 April.

Immigration said that while official working hours are being shortened, service hours, including all passport-related services remain unchanged.

“This is just a change in official working hours,” a senior Immigrations official said.

Maldives Immigration is the only government uniformed body within the civil service, employing close to 500 staff.
