Police said that the man has stolen a phone and wallet from a woman who had been on a motorcycle in Lonuziyaraiy Magu on Wednesday morning.
The man has also been on a motorcycle, which Police learned had also been stolen.
The phone and wallet have been retrieved and returned to its owner. The stolen motorcycle has also been seized by the Police.
The man arrested in the case has been identified as Ismail Saaif, 39, of Habibihap, Raa atoll Alifushi.
In addition to this, Police have today arrested another individual on charges of stealing from a house in capital Male' city.
