Ministry of Education on Monday issued another announcement seeking a company to operate the private preschool built at reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.

According to the announcement, the pre-bid meeting for Mohamed Qasim Preschool will be held on November 12. Bidding process is scheduled to commence on November 21.

Interested parties are required to pay a registration fee of MVR 200 to participate in the bidding process. The announcement further notes that MVR 15,000 must be paid as the project's bid security.

Education Ministry previously put out three announcements to hand over the operations of the preschool.

The last announcement was nullified on orders of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), which stated that there were some amendments to be made to the bidding process.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) handed over the 10-classroom facility established near the Autism Centre to the Ministry of Education in January 2018.

Following the third notice, bids were lodged by Islanders Education, the Maritime Academy of Maldives and Qualitat Education Private Limited. However, Maritime Academy's bid was nullified over failure to submit all necessary paperwork.

The school, built with a computer lab, hall and staff room, was allegedly utilized as a campaign hub to garner support for former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom prior to the 2018 presidential election.
