President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday checked on the citizens of Addu and Fuvahmulah after both cities suffered flooding due to incessant rainfall.
In separate phone calls to the Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq and Fuvahmulah City Mayor Abdulla Falah, he inquired about the severity of the damages caused by the storm.
He also asked about the current state of affairs and discussed how to alleviate the residents’ difficulties.
The president assured that the government is working to resolve the challenges faced due to the harsh weather conditions.
In addition to this, he called and spoke with the respective Parliamentarians of both cities as well.
Maldives Meteorological Services currently has a white alert issued for Addu and Fuvahmulah, predicting strong winds and rough seas.
