President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today visited Gaafu Alif Kanduhulhudhoo on his ongoing visit to Gaafu Alif and Gaafu Dhaalu atolls and pledged to complete various development projects on the island.

Addressing residents of Kanduhulhudhoo, the President noted how space constraints at the harbour is a pressing issue faced by the island, and pledged to expand the harbour after deliberations with the island's council.
He then stated that a resolution would be found for the delays faced in building a multi-purpose hall at the island's school, as well as building additional classrooms to address space constraints.
Addressing housing issues, President Muizzu stated that land would be built and rowhouses constructed in 2026.
He said that this year, the highest priority will be given to health and education. As such, the island's health centre will be developed to provide 24 hour service as per the request of residents.
In sports development, fences will be placed at the island's futsal grounds, and the rostrum area expanded. The turf carpet of the grounds will also be changed and adapted for use in athletics as well, he said.
After the President's address, Bank of Maldives inaugurated the ATM placed in the island and handed it over to the Council.
