The Maldivian government has announced plans to tow and relocate long-term illegally parked vehicles in Hulhumalé starting tomorrow.

Police said today that they plan to work with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Transport Ministry to tow and relocate the vehicles which are illegally parked on the streets of Hulhumalé for a long time.

The agency revealed that the process will start at 08:00 hrs tomorrow morning.

HDC recently allocated a 90,000 square feet land plot for Police and Transport Ministry's use. 50,000 square feet of this plot will be used for general parking, while the remaining 40,000 square feet has been dedicated for vehicles towed by Maldives Police Service.

Although the area has been allocated for parking, not many are using the space, with most vehicles still parked on the roads.
