Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid departed to Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh on Tuesday for his first official visit to the kingdom since assuming office.
During the visit, Minister Shahid will meet with the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf and other high-level officials of the Saudi government.
According to the foreign ministry, discussions will be held on further strengthening the historic and close bilateral ties between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
Minister Shahid is accompanied by the Policy Secretary at the President’s Office Aminath Shauna, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Shiaan and other ministry officials.
