This promotion is part of a series of initiatives launched since July to celebrate 20 years of BML's partnership with American Express.
As part of this promotion, American Express credit cardholders who make purchases of MVR 3,000 or above are eligible to enter a draw, where one lucky winner will be awarded MVR 20,000 in reward points. These points can be redeemed for a variety of options, including booking plane tickets, cars, or hotel rooms, as well as acquiring gift cards from both local businesses and international merchants like Amazon, Apple, and Spotify.
Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking at BML Moosa Nimal said that American Express has continued to extend special offers to their card holders. BML recently launched the first ever Shari'ah Compliant Credit Card in the Maldives with a host of local and international benefits for card members, he added.
Nimal said that the bank introduced the Maldives' first American Express credit card in 2004, followed by the launch of the world's first American Express debit card. Reflecting on the 20-year partnership currently being celebrated, he added that American Express has grown to become a highly trusted and valued brand among Maldivians.
With over 345,000 customers and 7,900 merchants BML is the exclusive issuer and merchant acquiring partner of American Express.
