An agreement was signed between the Maldivian government and Sinohydro Corporation Limited to develop the technical and financial proposal for the 1000 housing units to be built in the island.
The government of Maldives today announced a 1,000 housing unit development project in Eydhafushi island of Baa Atoll, located in the central region of the Maldives.
Along with the project's announcement, it was also revealed that the project's technical and financial proposal formulation has been handed over to Sinohydro Corporation Limited, a civil engineering company based out of Beijing.
The agreement to handover the project to Synohydro was signed by Construction Minister Dr Abdulla Muthhalib and the company's Managing Director.
The development of these housing units in Eydhafushi was a pledge made by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during the most recent parliamentary election campaign.
The current administration has previously announced plans to develop housing projects in populous areas of the country.
