Award-winning conceptual and fashion photographer Mohamed Azmeel, better known by his artist name Double Dot, unveiled his solo exhibition 'The White Fire: The plight of coral reefs' on October 20, in capital city Male'.

While the exhibition remains open to the public, the Minister of Environment Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan inaugurated the private opening on October 19.

Held in partnership with Jumeirah Vittaveli, Visit Maldives and Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Azmeel decided to host the public exhibition to raise awareness on the global climate crisis and the significant impact it causes to Maldivians as "people of coral", living in a marine ecosystem.

According to Azmeel "each photo, at a minimum, took around four to five hours", while some images required over 14 hours to create.

"It took me less than 30 days" to complete the photographs, said Azmeel.
