Health Protection Agency (HPA) said three locations in Greater Male' Area will be providing covid vaccine booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine to people above the age of 60.
Booster shots will be available in ADK Hospital, Hulhumale' Hospital, and Dhamanaveshi on appointment basis only. While appointments to ADK Hospital has to be made via QueueBee mobile application, the other locations require booking via book.hpa.gov.mv.
The booster shot will not be provided to anyone arriving to these locations without a prior appointment.
Even though IGMH has said they will offer walk in booster shots every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm, it is not available today.
The government had been actively inoculating individuals that elderly people that fall within the high risk category of Covid-19 previously as well. So far 10,331 people have received a booster shot in Maldives.
Booster shots will be made available to workers in the tourism industry, healthcare workers, airport frontline workers, and people with chronic diseases within this week as well. Booster shots for other categories will be made available in the middle of December.
HPA encourages people eligible for the booster shots to get it as soon as possible. So far 365,580 people have been fully inoculated in Maldives.
