A young man who had sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident in Fuvahmulah City on Saturday night has passed away today.
Ismail Hassan, a 30-year-old resident of Fuvahmulah City, succumbed to his injuries at ADK Hospital this morning.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday when Ismail hit a speed bump and lost control while riding on Naibuthuthu Magu.
He received initial treatment at Fuvahmulah Hospital and was later transferred to Malé city for further treatment on Sunday.
In a separate incident on Saturday, another individual who had been injured in a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Laamu atoll Gan also succumbed to his injuries.
