Nordic media team to promote Maldives as a tourist destination

A team of media officials from world-class publications in the Nordic region are in Maldives for a familiarisation trip, on the invitation of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

MMPRC on Wednesday reported that the team, consisting of journalists, bloggers and writers representing major Nordic publications such as Søndag, Vagabond Reiselyst and Dagbladenes Bureau, arrived on 25 November, 2022, and will return on 1 December, 2022. The team were hosted at Sun Siyam Iruveli, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fenfushi and Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa.

During the visit, they will experience the luxury and gastronomy of the Maldives tourism industry. The trip aims to promote the diverse experiences in the Maldives and to promote the country and strengthen its presence in the Nordic region.

MMPRC aims to showcase the unique experiences offered in Maldives and generate coverage on resorts, watersports and other as well as promoting the one-island-one-resort concept.

Maldives has welcomed a total of 29,666 travellers from the Nordic region from January up to November 14, according to the state's tourism promotion body. This familiarisation trip is expected to push the arrival numbers higher with media exposure.
