Muaz appointed as Managing Director of Fenaka

Muaz Mohamed Rasheed has been appointed on Tuesday as the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation.

Muaz has previously served as the member of parliament for Madaveli constituency from 2014 to 2019.

Before he started his political career with leading roles in Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC), he used to work as a Project Officer at the Construction and Infrastructure Ministry.

Muaz completed higher studies in the field of architecture. He later worked in a private capacity as an architect.

During the recent presidential elections, he worked as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's assistant campaign manager.

Fenaka is the state owned enterprise (SOE) that employs the largest number of staff, with a total of 7300 employees. 2000 of these are temporary staff.

Fenaka is also currently the SOE with the largest debt in its name. Managing Director of the corporation during the previous administration, Ahmed Saeed, said in his last press conference in his official capacity that Fenaka has a debt of MVR 1.9 billion.
