The country's largest football event dedicated to children commenced on Wednesday, October 11.
Soccer Veterans Association of Maldives, renowned for organizing various football events for children, has designated this year's Nestlé Kids Football Fiesta for students in classes 3 and 4.
A total of 40 teams from 20 different schools are participating in this tournament, featuring a total of 720 players. With 920 participants, including officials, a total of 296 matches are scheduled for the fiesta.
President of the Soccer Veterans Association, Ali Shameem, said that this tournament stands as the largest football fiesta in the Maldives. He emphasized the objective of nurturing the next Ali Ashfaq, an acclaimed football player, as a driving force behind the football fiesta.
The football fiesta was officially inaugurated by Vice President Faisal Naseem.
Following the tournament's official launch, two teams were formed from the pool of participating students, and a friendly match was played.
