Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is expanding its presence in Thailand with the opening of Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort in December 2022.
Koh Yao Yai is one of Thailand's few unspoiled islands, situated midway between Phuket and Krabi in Phang Nga Bay. Travelers can enjoy traditional Thai culture, southern culinary delights, and beaches dotted with coconut and palm trees on the tranquil but charming Koh Yao Yai island, where life moves at a slower pace.
Travelers can view native hornbill birds, take a short boat journey to Birds Nest Island, or take a tuk-tuk tour of the island's coconut and rubber plantations, as well as local fishing towns, in addition to island hopping, snorkeling, and diving in seas rich in coral and marine life.
The 148-key Anantara Koh Yao Yai offers a pristine island hideaway from its quiet location on the water's edge. The resort's one-kilometer white sand beach is set against the backdrop of towering limestone structures rising out of the waters of Phang Nga Bay, with one- and two-bedroom beachfront pool villas directly on the beach.
The distinctive Deluxe Seaview Suites promise deep relaxation with a colour scheme of gentle indigo, muted ultramarine, and sandy tones. Spacious suites housed in four low-rise structures, all with ocean views, overlook a freeform swimming pool, and start at 90 square meters. Eight Seaview Pool Penthouses, each measuring 366 square meters, have two stories of luxury, one of which includes a magnificent glass bottom swimming pool. Each apartment offers a wide outdoor entertainment area with beautiful views of the neighboring islands, ideal for eating or intimate gatherings of family or friends.
An ocean-facing dining restaurant serving produce-driven Thai/Asian dishes, an all-day lobby restaurant and bar with an international menu that will change with the seasons, and a pool bar will be among the dining options. It is a lively location for families with popsicles, sodas, and pizza, as well as a refined spot for adults to pass away the hours with a chilled sundowner. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and spices are provided daily by an organic farm on site.
The nearest aviation hub to Anantara Koh Yao Yai is Phuket International Airport, which may be reached by a combination of speedboat and automobile journeys. The resort will also have its own private jetty, making transfers from Phuket or Krabi airports simple.
