Maldives is looking into the possibility of introducing a unified hotline for emergency service response.
The government of Maldives has begun discussions to provide all emergency services from a single hotline number in the Maldives.
As such, the Ministry of Health and other security services held a meeting today to discuss the possibility of a national hotline.
The initiative was made by Ministry of Health, which had submitted the matter to the Social Council to establish the help line when in need of emergency services.
While as of right now Maldives' emergency services all have individual hotlines, the government of Maldives introduced 1677 as a special hotline for individuals requiring emergency mental health support.
