The board of directors of Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO) has decided to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer.
MPAO board decided to appoint Sujatha Haleem for its top position, who had been MPAO's Acting CEO for two years prior to the board's decision to cement her post.
Sujatha has been a prominent figure in implementing a contemporary pension system to the Maldives, while her career in the field spans over 16 years. Moreover, she played an instrumental role in the management of World Bank's Pension and Social Protection Administration Project.
She is also credited with significant work and contribution towards developing the framework of Maldives Pensions Act and its eventual implementation.
Sujatha has filled the Acting CEO shoes after Pension Office's previous head John Grindal was sacked following sexual harassment allegations.
