Local telecom giant Dhiraagu on Thursday appointed their former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ismail Waheed as chairman of the corporation.
Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB)'s President Mohamed Nizar declared that Ismail Waheed had been appointed as the new chairman on Thursday
PCB appoints chairpersons and managing directors on recommendations from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Ismail had worked with Dhiraagu since its inception in 1988. He has played a significant role in the development of the company.
He held the post of CEO for five years until his resignation on March 21, 2007. Ismail resigned having received a senior position at United Kingdom's telecommunication company Cable & Wireless Worldwide.
