HDC has contracted private companies to develop 1,100 flats in Hulhumale in 2021

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has contracted several private parties to develop 1,100 flats in Hulhumale'.

These projects were all signed in 2021. They are being carried out in two phases; projects that fall under phase one have been agreed to be completed by March 2023.

HDC said five of these projects were contracted to private companies. Apollo Holdings were currently carrying out the work of 682 middle -range housing units as well, they said.

Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC) was contracted to develop 116 housing units. This project has to be completed before August 2024. The 120 housing units contracted to SJ Construction will have to be completed by the same deadline.

SAS E Construction was contracted to develop 129 housing units that require to be completed by September 2024. Fedo will be developing 53 housing units, which will be completed by October 2024.

HDC said several more companies will be contracted to develop more flats in Hulhumale as well. Some companies HDC has made prior agreements with have not completed the flats by their required deadline. People that had already bought the housing units that were to be built have been raising concerns over this delay.
