Dhaalu Atoll Meedhoo defeated Kudahuvadhoo 2-1 in a Group A match of the Gold Cup, securing their spot in the tournament's second round.
With this evening’s win, Meedhoo advanced with four points, while Kudahuvadhoo concluded the tournament with three points. The win also finalized all the teams advancing to the second round.
Kudahuvadhoo's only chance of progressing was to win the match, but they fell short despite a late goal.
All three goals were scored in the second half. Meedhoo took the lead with a penalty converted by Muzdhan Hassan. Ibrahim Imran scored the second goal in the 82nd minute. Kudahuvadhoo's Mohamed Yameen managed to score a goal in the 90th minute.
Dhidhoo will face Gaafu Dhaalu Fares-Maathodaa in tonight's Gold Cup match.
