Dhiraagu EAFC Mini Series 1, Drew 500 Gamers

Dhiraagu EAFC Mini Series 1 was won by Team Unified New Generation. More than 500 players participated in the tournament.

Dhiraagu has successfully wrapped up the EAFC Mini Series 1, the gaming event that began on Thursday.

The gaming event, which began on Thursday, was launched by Sports, Fitness and Recreation Minister Abdulla Rafiu. Launching the event, the Minister said that with such e-sports competitions organized by Dhiraagu, the sport will grow, creating opportunities for talented gamers and motivating the youth to pursue the field as a professional sport.

Speaking at the launch of the competition, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed said that the company is committed to developing the gaming sector. He added that the company is working hard to improve Dhiraagu's services to provide the best experience to the gaming community in the country.

Held at the Dhiraagu head office, the tournament was held as a physical event where fans and the public could watch the matches live. In addition to the main EAFC 24 tournament, the event featured a Tekken Open tournament alongside EAFC Duos and Mortal Kombat challenges.

After playing a strong match from Thursday to Saturday night, the Dhiraagu EAFC Mini Series 1 was won by Team Unified New Generation. Team PND.XML bagged the runner-up spot in the tournament. Team Unified Sports Club finished third in the tournament.

Mohamed Ashwan won the Tekken Open Tournament, which was held along with the tournament. Ahmed Thabish won as the runner up.

The competition is part of the e-sports competitions to be held in Dhiraagu throughout the year covering various games, dedicated to the country's gaming community. Dhiraagu said the event received a good response from the local gaming community. Many gamers also recognised the importance of such competitions to develop the skills and abilities of the players and to make the various gaming communities more familiar to the public.

Dhiraagu's EAFC Mini Series 1, which concluded its three-day event on Saturday, received a good response from the gamers. More than 500 players participated in the tournament.

The gaming event has a total prize pool of MVR 40,000.
