A workshop has been conducted to get chefs ready for this year's Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) Culinary Challenge.
More than 100 chefs from the nation's hotel industry attended the workshop. Chefs who work in the Greater Malé Region and those who work in different resorts are among them.
The chefs received a briefing on this year's Culinary Challenge and its different categories during the workshop. Three new categories, including one for bridal cakes and one for Maldivian cuisine, will be added to the challenge this year.
To contend for the title of "best chef" during the culinary challenge, the participants need to win in at least eight different categories.
The CDC, which is in charge of organizing the event, says that the goal of the workshop is to both prepare chefs for the culinary challenge and improve their skills so they can provide better services.
Nestlé, one of the expo's sponsors, provided a number of products for use in the workshop.
Every FHAM Expo features the Culinary Challenge, which offers incredible prizes. The nation's resorts are keen about the challenge.
FHAM is slated to take place in May this year.
