Pakistan donates 69 laptops for Maldivian students

The government of Pakistan on Thursday, donated 69 laptops to the Ministry of Education, to be distributed among prominent students.

During a ceremony held at the Ministry, the laptops were presented by the Pakistani Ambassador to the Maldives, Waseem Akram to Minister of Education Dr Aishath Ali.

Ambassador Waseem Akram stated that Pakistan would remain steadfast in providing aid to Maldives.

The laptops were gifted to the Maldives by Pakistan under the latter's "Jinnah Laptop Scheme", which honours Pakistan's first governor general, Muhammed Ali Jinnah. This marks the third instance where Pakistan donated the laptops under the scheme.

In addition, Pakistan is preparing to assist in the development of a healthy student population by donating sporting equipment in partnership with the Education Ministry.
