Centara Hotels and Resorts, which was founded in Thailand in 1983, is based on traditional family values such as caring, sharing, and a sense of belonging.
Centara warms the traveler's introduction to any multi-faceted place as a standard-bearer for the Thai tradition of courteous hospitality. The Centara story continues onto Japan, with the first hotel, Centara Grand Hotel Osaka anticipated to open in July 2023.
Thirayuth Chirathivat, the group's Chief Executive Officer, was recently in Japan with his business partner counterparts from Taisei Corporation and Kanden Realty & Development for the project's topping-off event, and made time to visit the hotel site on Namba street.
The 35-story structure is complete, and overall progress is approaching the halfway point. Centara's first hotel in Japan will have 515 luxury rooms, featuring bunk beds and connecting rooms, making it a perfect destination for families, leisure, and business travellers alike.
The hotel will also have the country's first SPA Cenvaree, a fitness centre, a co-working area, and elegant event spaces, as well as a unique rooftop dining destination that will cap the architectural masterpiece. Centara's entry into Japan exemplifies the company's strategic ambition of being a top 100 worldwide hotel operator in five years, with a portfolio of around 200 hotels and resorts, up from the current 89.
At present Centara’s portfolio includes two resorts in the Maldives, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives and Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives. Both resorts are well incorporated with the Centara sense of belonging, coupling it up with the natural beauty of the island nation.
