Tourist arrivals to the Maldives as of August 3, 2022 reaches 960,075 according to Ministry of Tourism.
With the latest update, the ministry reports that cumulative arrivals (in annual terms) is roughly 40,000 shy from reaching the millionth mark.
Arrivals to the island nation in annual terms observe 53.3 percent increment compared to the same period in 2021, while it was still 4.8 percent below pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
Total tourist arrivals for the month of July 2022 stood at 133,561 which indicated a 1.1 percent improvement of arrivals compared to the same month in 2019, during which arrivals stood at 132,144.
On the other hand, the tourist arrivals for July this year observed a 31.2 percent increment compared to the corresponding month in 2021 during which it reached 101,818.
Source market rankings remain relatively unchanged with India maintaining top position, followed by UK in the second and Russia in third. The arrival details are as follows;

As of August 3, Maldives has a total of 1,167 tourist establishments at operational capacity which contribute towards a combined bed capacity of 57,487.
