Urbanco has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Aid Campaign (IAC), a NGO in the Maldives, to provide humanitarian aid to affected countries and regions.
The agreement was signed by Managing Director at Urbanco, Ahmed Athif and Chairman at IAC, Ahmed Iqbal at a ceremony held at the Urbanco's head office on Monday, May 29.
IAC is a local organization dedicated to identifying and assisting people living in conflict zones and other distressed areas by raising funds to support them, Urbanco said in a statement.
"The IAC continues to aid children in distress in conflict zones like Syria, providing them with food, water, and assistance in building homes and meeting other essential needs," Urbanco said.
According to Urbanco, under the agreement IAC's primary role is to identify individuals and communities in need of assistance and collaborate closely with local leaders and stakeholders to obtain the necessary permissions for carrying out the work and facilitating the aid.
Urbanco's expertise team will develop site-specific plans to address the areas identified by IAC and ensure that these plans effectively meet the needs of the community. The company said that it will oversee the development of village or neighborhood masterplans, conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, infrastructure planning, architectural design, construction management, and quality control.
Urbanco said that the agreement was initiated by IAC.
