High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka, Masood Imad, said that Maldives and Sri Lanka should collaborate to promote tourism in both countries.

High Commissioner Masood made these remarks while speaking at the 16th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council yesterday.

Masood highlighted that the historical relationship between the Maldives and Sri Lanka provides a strong foundation for deepening economic ties.

He said that the Maldives market is rapidly expanding in Sri Lanka's manufacturing, tourism, textile trade, and construction sectors. He suggested that more market research be conducted and efforts made to simplify logistics to capitalize on this growth.

On the topic of tourism, High Commissioner Masood proposed joint marketing campaigns, collaborative travel packages, and the sharing of cultural heritage between the two nations.

He also advocated for regular business forums and joint research initiatives to achieve these goals.
